For this recipe you’ll need:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, cold, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely sliced
  • 1/2 stick butter melted
      1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Line a sheet tray with parchment paper.

      2. Place the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a food processor. Pulse to combine.

      3. Add the cold butter, and pulse until the mixture looks crumbly. Pulse in the grated cheeses.

      4. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, and stir in the buttermilk and chives just until combined.

      5. Use a large scoop to drop the dough onto the prepared sheet tray. Brush the tops with the melted butter.

      6. Bake for about 15 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Serve warm.
