Our culinary tours are thoughtfully designed for home cooks who want to deepen their skills while experiencing a place through its food, culture, and traditions. You’ll cook, taste, and learn alongside local chefs, artisans, and hosts—gaining insight into regional ingredients, techniques, and everyday cooking traditions. Where We're Cooking Next

Our current culinary journeys include Ireland and Tuscany, with Iceland coming soon. Each trip is intentionally designed for small groups, allowing for deeper connection—to the food, the people, and the place itself. From market visits and hands-on cooking to shared meals and cultural traditions, these experiences are unhurried, personal, and rooted in everyday local life—so you’re not just visiting a destination, you’re learning how it truly cooks and eats.

What Past Travelers Say

Traveling with The Chopping Block and Onward Travel was an experience I’ll never forget — from cooking classes in the Tuscan countryside to vineyard lunches that felt straight out of a dream. Every moment was thoughtful, authentic, and full of heart. I came home with new friends, a full heart, and memories I’ll carry forever. Grazie — you created something truly special.

Cook Like a Tuscan 2025

I was hesitant to travel with a small group at first, but I learned that having a common interest (food, wine, etc.) brings wonderful and friendly people together and makes for a fun and memorable experience.

Basque Country 2024

This trip was a leap of faith for me, traveling as a solo, taking a group trip and traveling with a company I had not directly traveled with before. When I reflect on the trip one word keeps coming to mind "magical." Just when you think it is great, it gets even better.  Thank you for a trip I will always remember!

Thoughtfully Planned, Expertly Led

Built on years of experience and refined through real travel, these culinary tours reflect what we’ve learned matters most: access, pacing, and authenticity. Since 2018, we’ve led small-group journeys that prioritize time in kitchens, markets, and around shared tables—where food traditions are lived, not staged. The result is a travel experience that feels intentional and personal, designed for home cooks who want to engage deeply, ask questions, and come away with a genuine understanding of how people cook and eat where they live.

A Dedicated Guide, From Start to Finish

Each culinary tour includes a dedicated guide from The Chopping Block who travels with the group throughout the journey. Your guide serves as a knowledgeable point of connection—helping provide context around food traditions, facilitating experiences, and supporting the group along the way—so you can stay fully present and engaged. It’s an added layer of care and continuity that ensures the experience feels seamless, welcoming, and thoughtfully supported.
