Active Time: 35 minutes
Start to Finish: 35 minutes

For this recipe you’ll need:

  • 6 slices bacon
1/2 French baguette, cut into 1/2-inch slices on the bias
    Extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup goat cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup cream cheese, room temperature
    1 tablespoon chives, finely minced
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Jalapeno Gold candied peppers
        1. Preheat the oven to 350º.

        2. Lay the bacon on a parchment-lined sheet tray. Bake in the oven until golden brown and crisp, about 15 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to cool. Once the bacon is cool, break into 1/2-inch pieces.

        3. While the bacon is cooking, prepare the bread. Brush both sides of the bread with olive oil, and lay out on a parchment-lined sheet tray. Bake the bread until it starts to brown around the edges, about 6 minutes.

        4. To prepare the goat cheese mixture, place the goat cheese and cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, whip the cheeses until light and fluffy. Stir in the chives, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

        5. To assemble the crostini, spread a layer of the goat cheese mixture on the toasted bread. Top with a small spoonful of the Jalapeño Gold candied peppers, and top with a piece of crispy bacon.
