Rebecca
Rebecca is a collector of cookbooks and almost any magazine related to food and travel. She has a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies and a Masters degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma. Go Boomer Sooners! She hates the Dallas Cowboys but roots for most underdogs in all other situations. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but lived in Dallas, Texas for eight years before she came to Chicago. She found the love of her life here and she spends most nights cooking him old family favorites and new recipes she has either read about or picked up from her fellow culinary family at The Chopping Block. She currently works as an HR Generalist for SGA Youth and Family Services, which is a non-profit working hard to empower youth and enable Chicago children, families and communities who face great challenges with few resources to see their potential and discover new paths to success. On the weekends, she is a culinary assistant at The Chopping Block, where she has found a family not just an employer. In her spare time, she catches up on Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder episodes, looking for her perfect dogs she hopes to one day give a home. Her dream dogs are French Bulldogs and their names will be Pancake and Waffles.
